Pirojpur, June 25 (UNB) – Mystery shrouded the death of a female teacher of a local primary school, who is also the wife of a lecturer of a college, at Jugia at Malikhali union in Nazirpur upazila on Monday.
The dead is Shimu Aktar, 32, mother of two and teacher of Jugia Registered Primary School. She was the wife of Mohsin Sikder, 45, of the village and lecturer of computer science at Matibhanga College and daughter of late Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury of Swarupkathi of Nesarabad upazila.
Her body, bearing a mark of strangulation, was found lying in a room in the first floor of her two-storey house at Jugia village at 11 am.
Being informed Nesarabad thana police recovered the body and sent it to hospital for autopsy in the afternoon.
Her husband remained missing since the morning.
A case was filed with thana.
Investigation Officer (IO) of the case Motahar told UNB that Mohsin Sikder wedded a woman for the second time without informing Shimu several months ago and she had filed a case against Motahar with Women and Children Repression Prevention Court of Pirojpur recently in this connection.
The IO suspected that Motahar might have strangulated her to death over the issue and went into hiding in the morning.
Her paternal uncle took custody of her two minor children following her death, he added.
