Thakurgaon, June 26 (UNB) – BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir called for intensifying the current anti-government movement for restoring the caretaker government system.

Addressing a reception accorded to him at Public Club Maidan on Tuesday, the BNP leader said that the government would be forced to restore the caretaker government system by intensifying movement.

Local BNP accorded the reception to Fahhrul on his release from jail.

Chaired by district BNP vice president Shahed Kamal Chowdhury, the meeting was also addressed by local leaders of BNP and its front organizations.

Fakhrul accused the government of torturing opposition activists across the country by filing ‘false cases’ against them.

He later attended a views exchange meeting with journalists at local press club.
