News - New Army Chief General Iqbal calls on President
Dhaka, June 27 (UNB) - Newly-appointed Chief of Army Staff General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan met President Zillur Rahman at Bangabhaban on Wednesday.

During the meeting, President Zillur Rahman congratulated the new Army Chief saying that he had earned reputation as a competent officer in Bangladesh Army.

The President appreciated General Iqbal for completing many challenging assignments during his service.

President Zillur hoped that the Bangladesh Army would go forward under his dynamic leadership.

General Iqbal expressed his gratitude to the President for appointing him as the Army Chief and sought the President’s cooperation in discharging his professional duties.

“I’m firmly committed to discharging my official duties as per your guidelines,” he said.

The President, also the Supreme Commander of Armed Forces, assured the new army chief of his all-out cooperation in overall development of the army.

Secretaries to the President’s office were present.
