PM expresses deep shock, sorrow at death of 94 persons in hill slide

Dhaka, June 27 (UNB) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her deep shock and sorrow at the death of 94 persons in Chittagong, Bandarban, Sylhet and Feni due to hill slide.
 
“To face the situation, the armed forces have been directed to take appropriate steps,” she said in Parliament today (Wednesday) during her wrapping up speech of the budget discussion.

The Prime Minister informed the House that relief materials have been sent, and the public representatives, administration and armed forces are working together to face the calamity. She mentioned that in Bandarban hill district, the administration has taken steps for miking and she herself monitored

“We are very much grief-stricken with such incidents of death,” Hasina added.
