TUNIS, June 27 (AP/UNB) - Tunisia's president says he has fired the governor of the central bank.
The statement from the presidency gave no reason for the firing of Mustapha Kamel Nabli, a former World Bank economist who has held the position for the last year and a half.
Wednesday's statement by President Moncef Marzoki said the dismissal was with the agreement of the North African country's powerful prime minister, Hamadi Jebali.
Marzouki and Nabli were known to be on bad terms in recent months.
Tunisia's economy is still reeling since its tourism sector was devastated following the ouster of the country's dictator in January 2011.
