Old woman burnt to death by daughter-in-law

Savar, June 27 (UNB) – An old woman was burned to death allegedly by her daughter-in-law at Raghunathpur village at Kulla union at Dhamrai on Wednesday.

The dead is Anwara Begum, 60, wife of late Abdur Rashid and mother of Anwar Hossain of the village.

Locals said Nasima Begum was married to Anwar Hossain several years ago and Nasima and Anwara Begum used to engage in altercation over family feud since the marriage.

They locked in an altercation over family dispute and at one stage Nasima allegedly poured hot water on Anwara leaving her severely burnt in the afternoon.

She died on way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Police arrested Nasima.
