
Dhaka, June 29 (UNB) – Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Abul Kalam Azad on Friday visited ailing Asmani (a famous real-life literary character portrayed by Palli Kabi Jasimuddin) at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in the capital.
During the visit, the Minister talked to Asmani’s family members and doctors and enquired about her treatment.
Azad asked the hospital authorities to ensure proper treatment of Jasimuddin’s embodiment of literary character and wished her early recovery. He also assured all-out support from the government in this regard.
The physicians said they were providing the best available treatment for nonagenarian Asmani.
All the expenses of her treatment are being borne by the government, they informed.
