Schoolboy shot dead in city

Dhaka, June 29 (UNB) - A schoolboy was shot dead in the city’s Shyampur area on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Rabiur Rahman Sunny, 11, a class II student of Abu Haji Primary School at Mir Hajirbagh and son of Rashedul Islam, a van driver. Hailing from Mukuria Barobari in Sadar upazila of Rangpur, they were residing in Paschim Dholaipar of Shyampur.

Police said a bullet fired by someone hit Sunny while he was gossiping with his father in front of their tin-shed house at about 10:15 pm.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead at 11:20 pm.
