News - Rangpur municipality turns city corporation

Dhaka, July 1 (UNB) – Rangpur Municipality has turned into a city corporation following a gazette notification.

The LGRD and Cooperatives Ministry issued the gazette notification on June 28 upgrading the divisional town as a city corporation with effect from today (Sunday).

A copy of the notification reached the office of the deputy commissioner of Rangpur this morning.

Rangpur City Corporation is the 10th city corporation of the country.
