Chittagong, July 1 (UNB) – A man was killed and two others were injured when a covered van rammed into a human hauler on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Shitakund Municipality sadar area on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Abul Kashem, 45 of Shitakund upazila.

Police said the accident took place in the area when a Chittagong-bound covered van hit a human hauler, leaving three human hauler passengers including its driver injured at about 11:30 am.

The injured were rushed to local health complex where the on-duty doctor declared Abul Kashem dead.

Later the injured human hauler driver Abul Hossain, 43 and Abdul Awal, 35 were shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital as their condition deteriorated.
