Myanmar Deputy Foreign Minister Myint meets Dipu Moni

Dhaka, July 1 (UNB) – Myanmar`s Deputy Foreign Minister U Maung Myint called on Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni at the latter’s office in the capital on Sunday.

During the meeting U Maung Myint thanked Bangladesh government for the support extended to the government of Myanmar in dealing with the recent violence in Myanmar`s Rakhine state, a Foreign Ministry release said.

Dipu Moni assured him of cooperation of Bangladesh government to Myanmar for restoring peace and harmony in the bordering state of Rakhine.

The Myanmar Deputy Foreign Minister also brief the Foreign Minister about his meeting with Bangladesh`s Foreign Secretary Dr Mijarul Quayes under the auspices of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC).

Myint is currently on a three-day visit to Bangladesh to attend the 6th Foreign Office Consultations.
