
Cox’s Bazar, July 5 (UNB) - Twenty-seven Rohingyas who had been in Teknaf upazila from Myanmar were sent back to their homeland on Thursday.
Lt. Colonel Jahid Hasan, Commanding Officer of Teknaf Border Guard Battalion, told UNB that BGB members in their separate drives held the 27 Rohingyas, including 11 women, from different areas in Teknaf from 8pm on Wednesday till 10am Thursday.
They were sent back in boats at different times after providing them with foods, he said.
In another drive, Coast Guard members drove 17 other Rohingyas back while trying to enter Teknaf in two boats crossing the Naaf River around 12:30am today.
