25 houses vandalized ‘by ruling party men’

Narsingdi, July 5 (UNB) - About 25 houses belonging to the supporters of BNP were vandalized allegedly by the ruling party activists at Pirpur village in Raipura upazila on Thursday.

Local BNP leader Faizur Rahman alleged that the supporters of Awami League backed Mirzapur UP chairman Manzur Elahi attacked the houses of the opposition activists at about 3pm.

They ransacked the houses and looted belongings worth about Tk 50 lakh.

Raipura thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Baten confirmed the attack.

The OC said that police were sent to bring the situation under control.
