Dhaka, July 5 (UNB) - Five teachers in Barisal have been suspended on charges of their negligence of duty.
Secretary of Primary and Mass Education Ministry MM Niyazuddin paid a surprise visit to Mokimabad Mujibunnessa Government Primary School in Bakergnaj thana of Barisal on Thursday.
During the visit, Niyazuddin found that Mohammad Humayun Kabir Molla, headmaster of the school, became late on his arrival to the school.
Quality of education at the school was not satisfactory, according to a PID handout.
Humayun Kabir was suspended, the handout said.
Sifat Siddika, Siria Khan, Shipra Rani Majumdar and Umme Asma Batul, assistant teachers of Tilak Koladema Government Primary School, were suspended on same charges.
Assistant upazila education officer of Barisal Sadar thana, whose name could not be known, was also suspended.
