Chittagong, July 8 (UNB)-Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel rescued 48 people from Kadamtali area in the city early Sunday while they were being trafficked to Malaysia, and arrested two members of the trafficking gang.

RAB sources said acting on a tip-off, they conducted raids on four residential hotels from 2:30 am and arrested the two traffickers who were planning to leave for Malaysia by a boat with the gullible people.

The arrestees are- Jahirul, 39, and his uncle Suruzzaman, 43, of Sirajganj district.
