4 killed in separate incidents in Savar, Barisal & Jhenidah

Dhaka, July 08 (UNB) – A woman was among four people killed in separate incidents in Barisal, Jhenidah and Savar on Sunday and last weekend.

The dead are: Shahinur Akter, alias Shaon, 30, mother of two children and daughter of late Safura Begum of Rajashan Mandalpara village of Savar upazila of Dhaka, Abdul Baset Molla, 65, son of late Abul Hashem Molla of Manda-Charkasuria village of Hizla-Gourabdi union of Hizla upazila of Barisal district, Hossain Ali, 40, a labourer and hailed from Babra village of Kaliganj upazila of Jhenidah district and Yakub Hossain, 45, a construction worker and hailed from Jadabpur village of Jhenidah sadar upazila.

In Barisal, Baset fell on the floor of his house unconscious as his neighbour Faruk Howladar indiscriminately punched him over the ownership of piece of land at Manda-Charkasuria in Hizla on Sunday noon.

He died on way to hospital.

In Jhenidah, Hossain Ali, 40, died on the spot after falling from the rooftop of a one-storey house at Mobarakganj Sugar Mill while he was repairing its corrugated steel-made roof at noon.

Construction worker Yakub Hossain, 45, came in contact with a live power line and received severe electric shock as he was connecting television cable to the power line at his Jadabpur village home in sadar upazila. He died a little while later.

UNB Savar Correspondent adds: Shaon had been missing had been missing since June 29 from Rajashan Mandalpara village.

Locals found her decomposed body near her house and informed police on Sunday afternoon.

The body was recovered and sent to hospital for autopsy.

Police suspected that unidentified miscreants might have killed Shaon and left her body there last weekend.
