News - Heart rules over pocket size
Dhaka, July 9 (UNB) - In a prompt response to the Prime Minister’s call, the BBA 16th batch of Dhaka University Management Studies Department provided Tk 6,500 for the construction of Padma Bridge with the country’s own fund.

The students of the department, led by Prof Dr Md Ataur Rahman, handed over the money to Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at his office on Monday for depositing it to the Prime Minister’s Fund.

Welcoming the initiative, the DU VC said although the amount is small, the initiative is much more significant.

“This is good to see that the students imbued with the spirit of the Liberation War responded quickly and provided the money. It’ll encourage others to come up with the same spirit,” the VC told UNB when contacted over phone.

Business Faculty Dean Prof Dr Jamaluddin Ahmed, Prof Dr SM Imamul Haq of Soil, Water and Environment department, among others, were present, on the occasion.
