Hosts Khagrachhari makes flying start in KFC Women’s Super League

Dhaka, July 10 (UNB) - Hosts Khagrachhori DSA made a flying start in the preliminary round of the KFC National Women’s Super League crushing Luxmipur DSA by 11-0 goals at the Khagrachhori Stadium on Tuesday.

Mitu Marma made double hattrick scoring seven goals in the 5th, 32nd, 36th, 54th, 57th, 58th and 70th minutes, Keli Chowdhury netted twice in the 13th and 44th minutes while Anuma Marma and Shonakti Chakma scored one each in the 16th and 27th minutes respectively.

Earlier, local MP Jotirindra Lal Tripura inaugurated the meet.

Chairman of the Khagrachhari District Council Upendra Lal Tripura and regional commander of Bangladesh Army Brig Gen Mamunur Rashid were also present.

In the day’s another match, hosts Kushtia outplayed Jhenidah by 6-1 goals at Kushtia Stadium this afternoon.

Toma made a hattrick scoring four goals while Lucky and Shathi netted the remaining goals for the winners while Ronny netted the lone goal for the losers.

In the day’s another match at Joypurhat Stadium, hosts Joypurhat beat Bogra by 3-2 goals.

Lata Parvin struck twice and Rahima Akhter netted one for the winners while Munni and Jolly scored one each for the losers.

A total of 36 teams, split into seven groups, are taking part in seven different venues -- Khagrachhari, Kushtia, Sylhet, Jaipurhat, Nilphamari, Agriculture University and Kamalapur Stadium in Dhaka.

Eight matches will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) in four venues -- Khagrachhari Stadium: Rangamati vs Feni (3:00 pm), Chittagong vs Laxmipur (5:pm).

Kushtia Stadium: Satkhira vs Magura (3:pm), Narail vs Jhenidah (5:pm),
Joypurhut Stadium: Jessore vs Sirajganj (3:pm), Noagaon vs Bogra (5 pm) Nilphamari Stadium: Nilphamari vs Panchagarh 4:45 pm, Bangladesh Agriculture University (Mymensingh) vs Netrakona (4:45 pm).
