Couple held with 100 Yaba tablets in Barisal

Barisal, July 11 (UNB) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a couple dealing in drugs along with 100 Yaba tablets from Kawnia Basherhat area in the city on Tuesday.

The arrested were identified as Amanullah Aman alias Biloi Sumon, 30, and his wife Merina Akhter, 26.

Police said acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force from RAB-8 conducted a drive in the area around noon and arrested the drug peddling couple.

On interrogation, the arrested confessed that they had long been involved in drug trading in the area.

The couple was handed over to police and a case was filed in this connection, said Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kawnia Police Station.
