Narsingdi, July 11 (UNB) – A housewife was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband at Karimganj Kandapara village in Raipura upazila on Tuesday morning.

The victim was identified as Ambia Begum, 38, wife of Mokhles Mia of the same village and daughter of Bikchan Mia of Dakkhin Mirzanagr village in the same upazila.

Police and locals said Bikchan Mia donated a house to his daughter at the Kandapara village a few years back. But since then her husband started putting pressure on her to transfer the house to his name which she refused.

Neighbours said Mokhles picked up a quarrel over the issue at about 10am and stabbed her indiscriminately leaving her dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.
