Minor girl drowns in Barisal

Barisal, July 11 (UNB) – A minor girl drowned in a pond while taking bath at Nathullabad Fishery Road in the city on Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Swarna, 7, daughter of hotel employee Shah Alam of the area.

Family sources said Swarna slipped into the deep water while taking bath along with his elder brother and three other children in the pond near their house around noon.

Local people rescued her but she died on the way to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
