Dhaka, July 11 (UNB) - The five-nation 16th SAARC Carrom Championship, organised by Bangladesh Carrom Federation (BCF), began today (Wednesday) at BKSP in Savar.

BCF senior vice president and managing director of Sandhani Life Insurance Company Ahsanul Islam inaugurated the meet while president of Asian Carrom Confederation Dr Zahir Nasir was the special guest on the occasion.

BCF president Junaid Ahmed Polok, MP delivered the welcome speech and director (Administration & finance) of hosts BKSP Dr Ashraful Islam was present at the inaugural function.

A total of 40 players from India, Pakistan, Maldives, Sri Lanka and hosts Bangladesh are taking part in seven events of the four-day meet.
