Stalker kills college girl in Manikganj

Manikganj, July 12 (UNB) – A college girl was hacked to death by a stalker at Bahara village under Daulatpur upazila of the district early Thursday.

The victim, Aleya Akther Smriti, 22, daughter of Aulad Hossain, was an honours final year student of Rajbari District Women’s College and a resident of the village.

Police and family sources said Ismail Hossain, spoiled son of Akher Ali of Mohadevpur village in Shibaloy upazila of the district, had been stalking Aleya for long. Recently Aleya’s family refused to accept his marriage proposal.

Being enraged by the incident Ismail went to Aleya’s house at 6 am today and hacked her to death.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Manikganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Ismail went into hiding.

A case was filed in this connection.
