DCs asked to protect khas land, help implement govt order to stop illegal coaching

Dhaka, July 12 (UNB) – Deputy Commissioners (DC) have been directed to work with utmost sincerity to infuse more dynamism into administration at grassroots levels.

The directive came at the concluding day`s sessions of DCs Conference 2012, held at the conference room of the Cabinet Division at Secretariat on Thursday.

All the 64 district commissioners attended the three-day conference where they exchanged views with ministers, state ministers, secretaries and other top officials of 36 ministries, discussed with them about various matters and submitted their suggestions to them.

Cabinet Secretary Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan anchored the concluding day`s session and laid out different directives of the government before them.

Addressing the district administrators Mosharraf directed them to help protect khas (government) land from land grabbers, implement the govt`s order to stop illegal coaching by teachers of govt educational institutions in their respective areas and play greater role in implementing education policy by helping enhancing quality of education in public and government registered educational institutions, expedite implementation of repair of tattered roads and highways, curb smuggling, illegal drug business and abuse, reach the fruits of achievement made in telecommunications, science and information technology sectors to the door of rural people.

Earlier, speaking on the occasion Telecommunications Minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju urged the DCs to help expedite implementation of development works by carrying out the responsibility reposed upon them by the government through coordination among themselves with utmost sincerity.

Law Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed, Information Communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain and Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman were present as specials guests and also spoke.
