Chuadanga, July 14 (UNB) – Body of a housewife was recovered from a garden at Hajrahati village in Sadar upazila on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Jahanara Parvin, 37, wife of Santu Mondal of the village.

Police said a farmer of the village found Jahanara’s body at a litchi garden of Jharu Mondal of the village in the afternoon and informed them.

Later, the law enforcers recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.

Victim’s husband said Jahanara went to a nearby shop for purchasing a mosquito coil around 9pm on Thursday and did not return home.

Police suspected that miscreants strangulated Jahanara to death after gang rape and left the body in the garden at night.

A case was filed in this connection.
