Khaleda condoles Mazharul Islam’s death

Dhaka, July 15 UNB) - Opposition leader Khaleda Zia on Sunday expressed deep shock at the death of Mazharul Islam, the pioneer of modern architecture in Bangladesh.

In a condolence message, Khaleda said the death of internationally renowned architecture Mazharul Islam has created a vacuum in the field of architecture which is irreparable.

Paying tributes to Mazharul Islam, the BNP chairperson said he was a proud son of the soil who enriched the architecture with his talent and skill.

Khaleda prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Architect Mazharul Islam passed away at a city hospital early Sunday at age 89.
