Benapole (Jessore), July 17 (UNB) – A schoolboy allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at Dighirpar village here on Monday night after his father scolded him for not studying properly.

The victim was identified as Al Amin, 13, a Class VI student of Benapole School and son of Kinu Moral of the village.

The victim’s father said he rebuked Al Amin on Monday evening as he was not attentive to his study.

Later, in a fit of anger, he hanged himself with a ceiling fan at their house at about 7:45 pm

Meanwhile, police recovered the hanging body of a young housewife at Bhagalpur village in Sadar upazila of Jessore district on Monday night.

The victim was identified as Josna Khatun, 18, wife of Saheb Ali of the village.

Saheb said Josna hanged herself from a rafter at their house at about 10:30 pm, claiming that his wife had long been suffering from mental disorder.

Meanwhile, the victim’s parents alleged that Saheb and his family members killed Josna and later hanged her to cover up the incident.
