Chittagong, July 17 (UNB)-A worker was killed as an iron plate fell on him in a ship breaking yard in Sitakunda upazila on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Khorshed, a worker of MRM Ship Breaking yard in Bhatiari.

Police said, Khorshed was critically injured when a huge iron plate fell on his head while working at the ship breaking yard in the early hours today.

He was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead at about 5 am.
