
Dhaka, July 19 (UNB)-A total of 100 Bangladesh Navy personnel have been selected for joining the Qatar Coast Guard and Qatar Boarder Security Department.
Among them, 25 sailors left Dhaka for Qatar on Thursday and rest of the sailors are scheduled to leave Dhaka on July 20, said an ISPR release.
A farewell programme was arranged at Multipurpose Hall of Naval Headquarters on Wednesday. Chief of Navay Vice Admiral Z U Ahmed was present at the programme as chief guest.
Addressing the programme Z U Ahmed said, ‘You have to build a positive image for Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh as well by discharging your duties with utmost sincerity, honesty, dedication and professionalism.’’
A proposal from Qatar Coast Guard and Boarder Security Department was given to Bangladesh for sending skilled sailors of different branches of Bangladesh Navy.
In response to their proposal, 100 navy personnel were selected for joining the Qatarian forces. These sailors will be employed in Qatar for next four years.
