1 killed, 4 injured in road accident

Chapainawabganj, July 19 (UNB) – A man was killed and four others were injured when hit by a train engine at Mokrampur rail crossing in Gomastapur upazila on Thuraday.

The deceased was identified as Kabirul Islam, 42, son of Islam Ali of Santoshpur area in the upazila.

The injured- Abdur Rahim, 14, Sheuli Begum, 25, her daughter Bristi, 7, and son Sakib, 8- took treatment at Upazila Health Complex.

Officer-in-charge of Gomastapur thana Bazlur Rashid said the accident took place when a human hauler from Santoshpur area with 8-10 passengers in it crossing the area on way to Rahanpur was hit by a train engine, which was engaged in repairing the rail track, leaving Kabirul dead on the spot and injuring others at noon.

Rail police recovered the body.
