Two Shibir leaders arrested in Bogra

Bogra, July 20 (UNB) - Police arrested two leaders of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, including president of its district (North) unit Mizanur Rahman, from Dupchachia upazila headquarters on Friday evening.

The other arrestee is Sirajul Islam, office secretary of the unit of the student wing of Jamaat.

Officer-in-charge (investigation) of Dupchachia Police Station Mobarak Hossain said they arrested Mizan and Siraj in a case filed in connection with attack on police in the district town on June 26.

President of district town Shibir Hedayetul Islam said police arrested their two leaders while they brought a procession welcoming the holy month of Ramadan.

OC of Sadar Police Station Mahmudul Alam said Shibir activists attacked the policemen at Railway Station road on the night of June 26. Assistant sub-inspector Bazlur Rashid filed a case in this connection.
