Dhaka, July 21 (UNB) - Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Saturday visited the mother of celebrated fiction writer, playwright and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed who died in New York on Thursday.
The minister went to the house of cartoonist Ahsan Habib, younger brother of late Humayun Ahmed, at Mirpur in the city around noon where he talked to Ayesha Fayez.
He prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Ahsan Habib and his sister were present during Nahid’s visit.
Meanwhile, the Education Minister talked to the mother-in-law of Humayun who was staying in the US over phone and expressed shock at the death of the playwright.
