
Dhaka, July 25 (UNB) - The Anti Corruption Commission on Wednesday interrogated two officials of two local sub-consultants of consulting firm Halcrow Group in connection with the graft allegation in the proposed Padma Bridge project.
ACC directors Mir Md Zainul Abedin Shibli and Mirza Zahidul Alam quizzed managing director of Design, Planning and Management Consultant MA Sobhan and executive director of Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) Prof Dr M Monowar Hossain at the ACC headquarters for hours together from 10 am, ACC Public Relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
He said the ACC investigation team interrogated them about whether they knew anything regarding the corruption allegation in appointing the consultant for the Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project.
The investigation team of the Commission on Monday interrogated high-ups of three local sub-agents of two international consultancy firms over graft allegations in the project.
Earlier, on Monday, the ACC investigators quizzed three top officials of three Bangladeshi sub-agents of New Zealand-based consulting firm Maunsell AECOM Ltd.
On Sunday, the watchdog body interrogated three officials of three local sub-agents of Canadian firm SNC-Lavalin, and on July 2, it interrogated a top official of another sub-agent of the Canadian firm.
