4 inter-district robbers held in Laxmipur

Laxmipur, July 26 (UNB) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested four members of an inter-district robber gang along with arms from Paloan Mosjid area in Sadar upazila early Thursday.

The arrested were identified as Belal Hossain, son of Majibul Haque of Pashchim-Laxmipur village and Khorshed Alam, son of Sultan Ahmed of Tumchar village of Sadar upazila of Laxmipur district and Korban Ali, son of Tajul Islam of Sonaimuri upazila of Noakhali and Abu Ahmed, son of Abu Taher of Sonagazi upazila of Feni district.

RAB-11 battalion of Comilla-Laxmipur area Major Ashraful Islam said on secret information they conducted a drive in the area and arrested them at about 2am from a baby taxi.

Later, the elite force recovered one pistol and two sharp knives from their possession.

Police said the arrested robbers were wanted in a number of murder, robbery and snatching cases.
