Keraniganj, July 30 (UNB) - A mobile court in Nawabganj upazila of Dhaka district on Sunday sentenced a teenage boy to two months’ imprisonment for sexually harassing a schoolgirl.

The convict is Hridoy Rajbangshi, 18, son of Ratan Rajbangshi of the upazila.

Police said Hridoy had been harassing the Class VII female student of a local school on her way to and back home for the last three months.

He also threatened to kill the parents of the girl as they protested his acts.

On Sunday, Hridoy stopped the girl at Puratan Bandura at about 10 am and sexually harassed her.

He also beat the father of the victim as he protested his acts after rushing to the spot on information.

Later, locals informed police of the matter.

On information, the law enforcers rushed in, arrested the stalker and produced him before a mobile court at about 4 pm.

The mobile court, led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Dewan Mahbubur Rahman, handed down the verdict.
