Five doctors suspended

Dhaka, July 30 (UNB) – The Government on Monday suspended four physicians for remaining absent in their workplaces without permission and another for submitting  false certificate.

The doctors who were suspended are-Dr Chhanda Dhar, ex medical officer Shakpura Health Center in Boalkhali Upazila in Chittagong , Dr Muhammad Chancal Azad, medical officer of Sworajganj Sub-center in Doulatkhan Upazila in Bhola, Dr M Ekram Hossain, medical officer of Gaibandha Sadar Hospital and Dr  Samina Sharmin, medical officer of Chittagong Medical College and Hospital.     

Meanwhile, assistant Professor of Gyeny Dr M Abdul Quayum, OSD officer of the Health Directorate, was suspended as the allegations brought agasint him for submitting false statement and certificate was proved, said a press release of  the Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Monday. 

Dr Chhanda Dhar remained absent in workplace since June 5, 1996 while Dr Chancal Azad since November 11, 2011, Dr Ekram Hossain since April 24, 2005 and Dr Samina Sharmin since April 8, 2002, it said.
