Dhaka, July 31 (UNB) – Bangladesh has been elected as the vice-president of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) for the next two years.
The three-day AIBD General Conference, which concluded on July 26 in Kathmandu, Nepal, also elected Indonesia as the new president and Pakistan as chair of the Executive Board.
This was disclosed at a meeting held at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar office of Bangladesh Betar on Tuesday.
Director General of Bangladesh Betar Kazi Akhter Uddin Ahmed presided over the meeting.
The Bangladesh Betar DG opined that Bangladesh should compete for the post of Chairman of the AIBD Executive Board in 2014.
He also underscored the need for maintaining coordination between AIBD and Bangladesh Betar, BTV, National Institute of Mass Communication, Channel I and other mass media.
