One killed, 2 injured in lynch mob attack in Faridpur

Faridpur, Aug 1 (UNB) – A young man was killed and two others were injured in an attack by an angry mob suspecting them as robbers at Gerda village in Sadar upazila on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Hakim, 25 of Sabial village of Sadar upazila of Brahmanbaria district.

Kotwali thana OC Sayed Mohsinul Haque said that Hakim and his two associates - Shamsul Haque and Khokon - of the same village were roaming suspiciously around the Sharif Jute Mill area at Gerda village at about 11pm.

Suspecting them as robbers local people after a hot chase caught and gave them a mass beating, leaving them critically injured.

On information, police rescued the injured and sent them to Faridpur General Hospital where Hakim succumbed to his injuries.   

A case was filed in this connection.
