Dhaka, August 1 (UNB) – An inter-ministerial meeting on Wednesday directed relevant government directorates and institutions to take necessary steps for celebrating the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr with grandeur.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, decided that the main Eid jamaat (congregation) will be held at the Jatiya Eidgah at 8:30 am, said a handout.
In case of bad weather, the official release said, the main Eid jamaat will be held at the Baitum Mukarram National Mosque at 9am.
On the Eid day, the meeting decided, children will be allowed to enter the children’s parks under Dhaka City Corporation, and the Dhaka Museum without tickets.
The meeting, chaired by Religious Affairs Minister Md Shahjahan Mia, also directed hospitals, jails and government orphanages to provide special meals on the Eid day.
The meeting also directed Bangladesh missions abroad to celebrate the Eid in a befitting manner.
