Dhaka, Aug 2 (UNB) – Communist Party of Bangladesh general secretary Mujahidul Islam Selim on Thursday urged the Bangladesh Peace Council (BPC) to launch a campaign to mobilize support from home and abroad to accelerate the ongoing war crimes trial.

He made the call while addressing a press conference organised by Bangladesh Peace Council at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity on Thursday.

Selim said the Bangladesh Peace Council should take an immediate step to mobilize public support in favor of the trial and to stop all propagandas against the war crimes trial.

Mozaffar Hossain, president of Bangladesh Peace Council, said the world is now passing a crisis period, so all should come forward to establish democracy and justice, and human rights.

Dhaka University professor MM Akash and joint general secretary of Gano Forum Sagir Anwar, among others, were present at the press conference.

Bangladesh Peace Council will arrange a discussion at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity on August 6 marking the Hirosima Day.
