Sherpur, Aug 3 (UNB) - ‘Airtel Rising Stars’ campaign, aiming to send talented little footballers to Manchester United Soccer School for coaching, began in the Sherpur Shaheed Muktijoddha Smriti Stadium here today (Friday).

A total of 130 players aged less than 16 years who came from five upazilas across Sherpur district participated in this selection round with the dream of stepping into the Manchester United Soccer School. And finally, sixteen little booters got ‘star cards’ and made their way into the second phase of selection process.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) age-based team coaches, Javed Hossain Apu and Shukkur Mahmud Totam, assessed these 130 players and made the final selection.

Earlier, the joint secretary of District Sports Council Manik Dutta inaugurated the Airtel Rising Stars selection round. The officials of District Sports Council (DSC), District Football Association (DFA) and event management Interspeed were also present on the occasion.
