22 injured in AL factional clash

Jhenidah, Aug 4 (UNB) - At least 22 people were injured in a clash between two groups of local Awami League at Chandpur village in Shailakupa upazila on Saturday.

Police said two groups, one led by UP member Shahidl Islam and another by Shariful Islam, were engaged in the
clash in the morning as Shariful came under attack by rivals on Friday afternoon.

On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.  

The injured were admitted to different private clinics and hospitals.

One of the injured, Jalal Hossain, was shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

No case was filed with thana till filing of this report till Saturday afternoon.
