‘Listed criminal’ gunned down in city

Dhaka, Aug 5 (UNB) – A ‘listed criminal’ was gunned down in an attack by unidentified assailants in the city’s Pallabi thana on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ali alias Pakistani Mohammad Ali, 25, a resident of Bauniabadh of the thana.

Police said unidentified miscreants wearing black cloths on their faces took Ali to the compound of Sagupta MM Housing where they fired several shots him at about 4pm.

He died on the spot and the attackers fled the scene after confirming him dead, said police.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pallabi thana Abdul Latif Sheikh said Ali, a listed criminal, was involved in various crimes, including extortion, in the area.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for morgue for autopsy.
