Five shops fined in Khulna

Khulna, Aug 6 (UNB) – A team of National Consumer Rights Protection Department in a drive realized Tk 30,000 in fine from five business establishments in the city on Sunday.

The team raided three medicine shops -- Sinha Drug House, Shaon Medical Store and M/s Zakir Pharmacy -- in front of Khulna Medical College Hospital and fined those Tk 5,000 each for selling date-expired medicines.

The same team also fined Satkhira Ghosh Dairy in the same area
Tk 10,000 and Shamsu Hotel Tk 5,000 for selling adulterated food items.

Syed Rabiul Islam, official of the National Consumer Rights Preservation Department, was present during the drive.
