Woman killed in train-auto rickshaw collision in Noakhali

Noakhali, Aug 6 (UNB) – A woman was killed as an auto rickshaw collided with a train at near Horinarayanpur rail station in sadar upazila on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Rokeya Begum, 35, of Khalilpur village in the upazila.

Witnesses said a Laksam-bound train of Samatat Express from Noakhali rail station collided with the auto rickshaw, when it was crossing the rail track, leaving its passenger Rokeya dead on the spot in the area at about 12:15pm.

However, four other passengers of the auto rickshaw including its driver escaped unhurt in the train accident.

Railway police recovered the body and sent it to hospital for autopsy.
