Khaleda attends MA Khan’s death anniv programme

Dhaka, Aug 6 (UNB) - BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Monday attended a special prayer and Iftar programme organised here marking the 28th death anniversary of former Navy chief late Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan.

The programme was arranged at the Dhanmondi residence of late Mahbub Ali Khan, the father-in-law of Khaleda’s eldest son Tarique Rahman.

Khaleda reached the house at about 6:20pm and exchanged pleasantries with the family members of the late Navy chief.

Prior to Iftar, she attended the special prayer offered seeking salvation of the departed soul.  

Noted jurist Barrister Rafique-Ul Huq, BNP standing committee members Moudud Ahmed, Mirza Abbas, Abdul Moyeen Khan, party vice-chairman Air Vice Marshal (retd) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf, and Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury, chairperson’s adviser Barrister Shahjahan Omar, Dr M Dr Osman Farruk, Abdul Awal Mintu, and Fazlur Rahman Patal, BNP leaders Amanullah Aman and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, among others, attended the programme.  

On this day in 1984, Mahbub Ali Khan passed away at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.
