Dhaka, Aug 6 (UNB) – The BNP-led 18 party alliance on Monday staged demonstrations across the country, except the capital, to protest the ‘naked interference’ in the Judiciary and filing of ‘false’ cases and forming charges against the top leaders of the alliance.

Party sources said the demonstrations were held in district, and upazila headquarters and metropolitan cities almost peacefully, except Barisal City, in the morning.

At least 15 BNP leaders and activists were injured as ruling party men allegedly attacked a procession of the opposition in Barisal city during their scheduled demonstration programme.

However, no report on violence during the opposition’s programme was reported from any other place of the country.

Earlier on Sunday, the alliance also staged a demonstration in front of BNP's Nayapaltan central office in the city on the same demand.
