Man kills nephew in Bogra

Bogra, Aug 7 (UNB) – A man was killed and his three brothers were injured as their uncle and cousins attacked them at Gulia Krishnapur village in Nandigram upazila on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Zabbar, 38, son of late Moyez Uddin of the village. The injured are Afaz Uddin, Khoka Mia and Abdur Razzak.

Police and locals said Fazar Ali, uncle of Zabbar, along with his sons Rahmat Ali, Mehedi Hassan and Korban Ali went to cut earth on the paternal land of the victim at about 8 am.

Fazar locked into a brawl with Zabbar when the latter tried to prevent them from cutting earth. At one stage, Fazar hit him with a spade, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, Zababr’s three brothers rushed to the spot only to be beaten by their uncle and cousins.

The injured were admitted to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-charge of Nandigram Police Station Aminur Rahman confirmed the incident.

A case was filed in this connection.
