Old man hit and killed by neighbour in capital

Dhaka, Aug 07 (UNB) – A septuagenarian was hit and killed by his neighbour over a trifling matter in capital`s Adabar on Monday night.

The dead is Ratan Mian, 70, resident of Road-5, Adabar, and son of late Ukil Uddin of Chardashani of Singair of Manikganj.

Adabar police quoting witnesses said a female neighbour of Ratan engaged in an altercation with him over a trivial matter and at one stage her close relatives swooped on the old man with sticks and hit him in his head leaving him dead on the spot at around 10:30 pm.

Adabar police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at midnight.
