Magura, Aug 8 (UNB) – Two local leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League and Swechchhasebak League were seriously injured in an attack by miscreants in Muchipara area of the district town on Tuesday afternoon.

The injured were identified as Polash Khan, 32, executive member of district Chhatra League unit and Mostaq Ahmed, 33, joint secretary of Sadar municipality Swechchhasebak League unit.

Sadar thana OC Asaduzzaman Munshi said there had been a longstanding enmity between the two leaders and the local miscreants over drug peddling.

In a sequel to the enmity the miscreants called Polash and Mostaq out of their houses over mobile phone in the area and chopped them indiscriminately in the afternoon, leaving them seriously injured.

They were admitted to Sadar Hospital and later Polash was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.

A case was filed in this connection.
